Energy certificates and emission reductions
We help our clients find the right solution to achieve their statutory requirements as well as sustainability goals through purchase of renewable energy certificates in addition to supply of physical green energy under PPAs.
Following options of various certificates guarantee the origin of energy

Domestic renewable energy certificates (India RECs)
Domestic RECs are obligatory in nature and consumers to have a statutory obligation to purchase them to meet their renewable purchase obligation (RPO).

Guarantees of Origin (GoOs)
Guarantees of origin certify that a quantity of power is indeed generated from the renewable energy sources. In 2009, the European Union made it compulsory to use GoOs to track and disclose renewable energy.

International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs)
I-RECs are the equivalent of Guarantees of Origin outside of the European Union and North America. The I-REC Standard stems from an initiative to track the origin of electricity beyond the borders of established renewable energy certificate markets and to help end-users reliably retrace it through appropriate certification and documentation.

Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs)
In England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, ROCs cover the obligation of electricity suppliers to source renewable energy.

US Renewable Energy Certificates (US RECs)
In the US, RECs cover the obligation of electricity suppliers to source renewable energy.
