At Statkraft, we develop and operate renewable energy assets, buy and sell energy, and invest 100 percent of our growth entirely in renewables. We have been making clean energy possible for over a century and continue to lead the way towards a carbon-free future.

Energy generation

Hydropower

Statkraft is the largest producer of hydropower in Europe and ranks in the top ten worldwide. The majority of our energy production is generated through this renewable energy source. The flexibility of our hydropower reservoirs helps balance the intermittent production of our growing wind and solar portfolio.

Wind power

Statkraft is the largest owner and operator of onshore wind power assets in the Nordics and has a strong track record with developing, constructing and operating wind power plants. Statkraft is currently constructing the largest onshore wind power project in Europe, Fosen Vind in Norway. We are also developing portfolios globally including in Brazil, Chile, India, the UK and Ireland.

Solar power

Solar power is the fastest growing renewable energy globally. Statkraft has developed solar power assets in India and the Netherlands. We have the ambition to grow portfolios globally including Brazil, India, Ireland and across Europe.

Projects

Statkraft India is currently involved in three significant hydropower plants in India- Malana, Allain Duhangan and Tidong, and was the first foreign investor to enter the hydropower section in the country.

Malana

The Malana Hydro Electric Power Project is a Run-of-the-river Hydro Power project, located on the Malana Nallah, a tributary of the Parbati River in the Beas Basin in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh.

Allain Duhangan

Commercial operation of 192 MW run-of-the-river Allain Duhangan hydroelectric power plant began in April 2010.

Tidong

The Tidong Hydropower Project (THP) is a 100 MW run-of-river hydroelectric power project on a tributary of Sutlej River in Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, India.
